Title: Impact of Cogmed Working Memory Training on adolescents at risk for depression
Institution: Oxford University
Investigator(s): Zola Mannie
Program: Cogmed RM
Background & Aim: Researchers at Oxford University in the United Kingdom previously found that adolescents at risk for depression also evidenced deficits in working memory. The current study will examine whether college students at risk for depression (ie., those who have parents suffering from depression) will show improved mood, self esteem, and anxiety and stress levels.
Population & Sample Size: N = 40 adolescents at risk for depression
• n = 20 adolescents in adaptive Cogmed training group
• n = 20 adolescents in waitlist control group
Design: Randomized, waitlist controlled, test-retest
