Working Memory Presentation – Joni Holmes

Joni Holmes, Ph.D. is a cognitive developmental psychologist and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Northumbria University in the UK.

Dr. Holmes wrote her doctoral thesis on the role of working memory in the development of children’s mathematical skills working at the University of Durham under the supervision of Dr John Adams. Dr. Holmes then worked for three years at the Center for Working Memory Research as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Susan Gathercole. She has since further investigated difficulties with attention and working memory in children. Dr. Holmes is currently focused on studying the impact of working memory training in children.

Dr. Holmes was the principal investigator of two important studies about Cogmed training. She was one of the key presenters at the Cogmed Conference in Austin, Texas this past year.
