Working Memory (WM) is one of the neuropsychological functions that have been found to be impaired in preterm children and adolescents. The aim of our study is to evaluate whether the Cogmed RM training program can improve working memory and other intellectual functions in a group of adolescents born with extremely low birth weight (birth weight <1000g: ELBW ). The effect of training in the ELBW group will be compared with the effect in a control group born at term with normal birth weight. We also want to examine the effect of working memory training on brain activity as seen on fMRI in the two groups. The material has been collected and the results are being processed and manuscripts prepared for publication.
