Background: This eight years old boy suffered from a very poor sequential memory – so much so that it affected his speech. The boy struggled to say multi-syllabic words, often tripping over his tongue as could not hold onto information long enough to process it and express his thoughts. He had trouble sitting still while doing his homework and was clearly in need of some intervention for his poor working memory. Although it was hard work for him to stay focused through the Cogmed training program, he made huge gains in his working memory and saw significant improvement in his speech. His mother was very impressed with how his memory improved saying that near the end of training, even she could not complete the memory tasks as well as him – “and this was the kid with the worst memory”, she remarked happily.
