Jonas JendiPresident and CEO
Jonas Jendi joined Cogmed in 2001 as its chief executive officer.

In 2007, Jendi opened Cogmed’s North American headquarters in Naperville, IL, where he is now based. Prior to Cogmed, Jendi provided strategic consulting for the Boston Consulting Group in Stockholm and Paris, and held management and consulting roles for various technology start-ups. He holds a MS from the Stockholm School of Economics. |

Torkel Klingberg
Founder and Senior Scientific Advisor
Dr. Klingberg is a professor of cognitive neuroscience at the Stockholm Brain Institute, which is part of Sweden’s renowned Karolinska Institute. |
In 2001, Klingberg founded Cogmed to develop and produce working memory training programs based on his breakthrough research demonstrating that the working memory can be improved through training.
His research continues to focus on ways in which the human brain deals with attention and working memory. Klingberg’s findings have been published in numerous journals including Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology, Nature Neuroscience, Child Neuropsychology, and Brain Injury.
Klingberg has gained recognition in the scientific community and the international media, notably in Scientific American and New Scientist. He has received distinctions from the International Neuropsychological Association and has been named “Future Research Leader” by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. In 2006, he was awarded the Philip’s Nordic Prize for outstanding research in the field of Neuropsychiatry. Klingberg also holds a research position at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Tina Tarre
Business Development Director
Tarre joined Cogmed in 2003 and is responsible for Cogmed’s international business development work. (on maternity leave).

She brings more than 10 years experience in healthcare and IT. Previously, Tarre served as vice president for Internet agency Razorfish, business development manager for Capio, the leading private healthcare provider in Sweden, and sales director for IT provider Clinitrac. Tarre holds a MS from the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.

Helena Westerberg
Scientific Advisor.
Dr. Helena Westerberg , one of the founders of Cogmed, earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of Stockholm 2002, and a Ph.D. in medicine from Karolinska Institutet in 2004.
| Dr. Westerberg, is a neuropsychologist with experience in the assessment and treatment of working memory. She joined the company after serving as a clinical neuropsychologist at Karolinska Hospital, still a Ph.D student in Dr. Klingberg’s laboratory.
Dr. Westerberg has experience of children and adults who have working memory deficits – in clinical assessment and in conducting research studies. Dr. Westerberg is associated with the Aging Research Center at Karolinska Institutet, where she runs experimental studies on plasticity of working memory in aging.

Jonas Beckeman
Chief Technoiolgy Officer
Jonas is the chief technology officer and co-founder of Cogmed. A talented game developer and system architect, he has a passion for writing and developing software for children.
| Before starting Cogmed, Jonas was lead developer and co-founder at multimedia/game studios ELD Interaktiv Produktion and Monsterland Produktion. He is also an active member of the open source community and author of projects such as Endogine and OpenBlackBox.

Elin Buchmayer
Chief Operating Officer, Country Manager Sweden.
Buchmayer has served as Cogmed’s chief operating officer since 2006. She is also Cogmed’s country manager for Sweden.
| Before joining Cogmed, Buchmayer held business development, consulting and project management positions at some of Stockholm’s premiere Web agencies. Buchmayer received a BS in computer science and a MA in multimedia education and technology from Stockholm University in 2000.

Michael Smietana
Product Development and Support Manager
Michael joined Cogmed in 2007 and is responsible for leading the product development and technical support work at Cogmed. Michael is based in Stockholm.
