Working Memory Research
Working memory has been the subject of numerous studies in recent years and continues to be one of the most widely researched cognitive functions. Studies range from examining the role of working memory in stroke recovery to understanding why some golfers choke when the pressure is on. With each new study, our understanding of the importance of working memory grows.
Below is an explanation of how working memory is measured, along with an article from Dr. Torkel Klingberg, professor of Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute and leading expert on working memory, in which he explains some of the important working memory research.
